Max came to us in 2014 as a severe harship case from the Ventura County Animal Services Camarillo Shelter, where he had been rescued and taken in as a stray in significant emaciation & neglect state. Max was originally named Matalote, and our daughters pronounced it Max-a-Lucky, which kind of stuck with us. Max was foster cared for in Valencia for 7 months and eventually adopted by his foster caregiver. Max crossed he rainbow bridge of natural causes on May 27, 2017. We mourn the loss of this beautiful horse's life, and celebrate saving him from hardship and pain. We are grateful that he passed in a comfortable and loving surrounding. He will be dearly missed.
